US Concerned About Modi’s Moscow Visit: Calls for Dialogue on Russia Relations

The US State Department has raised a concern after the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Moscow.

These discussions of concern were not disclosed but the US is unease with the relationship of India with Russia. These concerns raised by US id for India to support initiatives to establish peace in the region of Ukraine.

State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said during the press briefing that the US had conveyed big concerns to India in private discussions including within the last 24 hours. Miller declined to disclose further details.

Regarding the impact of Modi’s visit on the Ukraine conflict and efforts towards peace Miller reiterated the US stance urging India to align with principles of the UN Charter, emphasizing Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

India has consistently advocated for diplomacy and dialogue to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. This is the similar sentence what PM Modi said again on the global stage of Moscow, during visit.

Miller’s statements mirrored earlier remarks regarding US apprehensions about India’s ties with Russia and the necessity of upholding peace in Ukraine. He underscored India’s strategic importance as a partner with whom the US maintains candid dialogue, particularly regarding mutual concerns about its relationship with Russia.

Modi is on visit to Russia and Austria during the time when Washington D.C. is preparing to host NATO’s 75th anniversary. So, it can be notable time west as India visiting to Russia. The concerns raised by US is well known.
