The United Arab Emirates (UAE) President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited the seat of the French National Assembly, the Palais Bourbon, in Paris on the second day of the UAE President’s visit to France.

Sheikh Mohamed was received by Yaël Braun-Pivet, the President of the French National Assembly, and many other officials.

During his visit, Sheikh Mohamed discussed common areas of interest between the two countries. He reportedly wants to continue the collaborative relationship between both countries that developed through several decades of partnership through shared values of peaceful coexistence and intercultural dialogues.

Sheikh Mohamed also signed the Palais Bourbon visitors log. He wrote, “I was pleased to visit the French National Assembly. We emphasise the importance of parliamentary relations as an important pillar of our close ties.”

He met French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday at the Elysee Palace, the official residence of the President of the French Republic. Macron awarded His Highness the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, the highest French order of merit.
