Trump Signs Orders to Exit WHO and Paris Climate Accord on First Day Back in Office

After peacefully completing the inauguration ceremony Donald Trump made significant moves by signing executive orders that will pull the US out of both the World Health Organization and the Paris climate accord.

These actions are seeking headlines but also indicate the continuation of his previous policies from his first term.

This is the second attempt by Trump to remove USA from WHO. In the order, Trump gave the reason for the failure of WHO and criticized its demand for excessive payments from the US.

Trump Signed to WIthdraw US from Paris Climate Accord:

In another order of withdrawal, Trump signed to withdraw the US from the Paris Climate Accord. The US  joined the Paris Agreement in 2016, but Trump’s first administration exited the agreement in 2020. Biden rejoined the accord on his first day in office in 2021.

Will the US now focus on fossil fuels?

In his inaugural speech, Trump showed his commitment to boosting domestic fossil fuel production. He declared a national energy emergency and showed his stand to work for the strengthening of American energy independence.

Apart from this Trump also signed several other executive orders in front of a crowd at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. Nearly 80 executive orders from the Biden administration were formatted and ended by the first day of Trump’s office.

Now new President’s quick decisions and changing orders from Biden’s Administration are indicating that there will be a significant shift in US foreign and environmental policy.
