On December 3 President Yoon declared martial law, this decision by the South Korean President faced strong criticism around the nation. People showed their dissatisfaction by mass protests and started to demand his resignation.

After this strong criticism, President canceled the order just six hours later. But this incident gave a message to the people that the President was harming the constitution.

Now With his impeachment Yoon is suspended from office as the Constitutional Court reviews the motion. Now Prime Minister Han Duck-soo will serve as acting president.

Though this is not the first time, this is the second time in South Korea’s history that a president has faced impeachment.
