Philippines Demands Accountability Over VP Sara Duterte’s Alleged Remarks

The Department of Justice in Philippines has announced its plans to issue a subpoena against Vice President of the Philippines, who is Sara Duterte. There are allegations on her that she has made death threats against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Jesse Andres who is undersecretary of Dept. of Justice the National Bureau of Investigation is authorized to issue the subpoena. GMA News reported that this development was confirmed during a press briefing at the Malacañang Palace.

The alleged threats also included First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos and House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez. In response, President Marcos posted a video on social media. He made it clear by the post that he would not allow threats against government officials.

This issue has gained national attention. Now people of the Philippines are calling for a proper investigation and accountability into this matter.
