New Customs Agreement Signed Between UAE and United States

The United Arab Emirates and the United States have signed a new agreement to strengthen customs cooperation between both the nations. This agreement was made during President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s official visit to the US.

This deal between the US and UAE aims to improve the collaboration of these two different nations on sectors of economic, trade, and customs matters by focusing on the exchange of expertise and information between the two countries.

According to the official website of WAM, The agreement was signed on behalf of the UAE by Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security, and Troy A Miller, Acting Commissioner of US Customs and Border Protection.

Al Shamsi said the agreement will help deepen economic ties, increase trade, and reduce customs violations. This agreement will also focus on stopping illegal trade and improving technical cooperation by sharing knowledge and training customs staff.

He said the growing trade between the UAE and the US will help both countries to grow. This agreement will strengthen their customs relations and make it easier for goods to move between them.

President HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is on his official visit to the United States, he started this visit on Monday. HH Sheikh Mohammed met with President Biden, VP Kamala Harris, and Secretary of State Antonio Blinken, among other officials.
