Musk's Influence Drives Massive Cuts as Trump Administration Freezes USAID Operations
Elon Musk stands out as he leads the Trump administration in cutting budgets while influencing departments of the Federal Government. On Monday Musk evaluated all federal employees who needed to explain their responsibilities because he considers USAID home to leftist communist radicals.
While serving as Secretary of State, Marco Rubio immediately takes charge of USAID operations then delays all foreign aid until he fully assumes management control. Secretary Rubio suspends global emergency relief efforts when implementing his authority over USAID which results in federal staff reductions. To support this discussion the article reports that USAID must fire 2000 workers while the federal government has currently hired more than 20,000 employees. DAI and Chemonics had to dismiss most of their US-based employees because they faced $350 million in unpaid bills.
Democratic politicians sharply criticize the administration’s moves because they believe these actions harm America’s worldwide impact. Aid programs must keep running because stopping them will make poor nations poorer and create instability all across the world which then puts both local and global food safety and health in danger.
