Starting on April 8 2025 Mega Millions introduces important changes to its main lottery game system. The lottery Mega Millions undergoes complete enhancements that impact how much tickets cost as well as prize rules and available game locations.
Mega Millions tickets cost $5. The company applies a built-in multiplier formula to prices after upgrading it from being an optional add-on service. The normal Mega Millions rules give all players 100 prize boosts apart from jackpot prizes.
Players in Mega Millions will feel more thrill whenever they participate because the initial jackpot rises from $20 million to $50 million. The Mega Millions lottery now provides better chances for success as players using it now have 1 in 23 opportunities compared to earlier odds of 1 in 24 alongside a reduced Match 5 + Megaball odds of 1 in 290,472,336.
Mega Millions will increase prize tiers from $2 up to $1 million, to $10 to $10 million. From this change, Mega Millions players will be able to choose between numbers 1 through 24 for their Mega Ball pick after switching to the new format.
The last drawing after this update takes place on April 4 while the new Mega Millions begins at 11 p.m. ET on April 8. Players can use their existing Mega Millions tickets under the previous winning conditions according to the instructions.
