The 2 times Emmy Award Winning actor Jeremy Allen White and ‘Elvis’ fame Oscar Nominee Austin Butler to lead as extremes in Henry Dunham’s upcoming A24 Production titled ‘Enemies’.
News broke after weeks of internet speculations as the whiff of these two hot topic actors playing opposing roles has been surfacing the ether for a while. ‘The Bear’ actor Jeremy Allen White and the ‘Dune’ actor Austin Butler are said to be playing “a relentless detective and an infamous contract killer collide in a deadly game of cat and mouse”, reports early reports from Deadline.
The crime saga will be written and directed by Henry Dunham known for his thriller titles ‘The Standout at Sparrow Creek’ and ‘Wichita Libra’, both crime thrillers that impressed and went under the radar. The final casting couch decision was made on Wednesday and the filming is said to begin in Chicago this summer.
Austin and one of the producers of ‘Enemies’, Ari Aster were last seen collaborating in the western flick ‘Eddington’, also backed by A24, which Astra directed and will be screened at the Cannes 2025. Both Austin and Ari Aster are expected to be at the event on Friday with the movie also having Pedro Pascal and Joaqin Phoenix starring with Emma Stone.
While Butler is busy with projects like ‘Eddington’ and Darren Aaronofsky’s ‘Caught Stealing’, Jeremy Allen White has the successful and binge worthy Hulu series ‘The Bear’ boosted for a 4th Season to stream from 25 June. He also signed up for Jeremiah Zagar’s ‘The Painted Bride’ alongside the legendary Isabella Rossellini and Mandy Patinkin. Jeremy Allen White will also be seen as Jabba the Hutt’s son in The Star Wars ‘Mandalorian & Grogu’ and in Bruce Springsteen’s Biopic ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’.
‘Enemies’ is produced by A24 with Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen of Square Peg; Alejandro De Leon also Co- Produces while Josh Bachove joins as Executive Producer.
