issey miyake paris menswear geometry
Formless Form is a collection of IM MEN Fall/Winter 2026 by Issey Miyake that was introduced January 22, 2026, in Paris Fashion Week at the historic Collogue des Bernardins, and redefines the geometry of modern menswear using unstructured silhouettes and novel manipulation of fabrics. Models glided amid stone arches in single-cloth garments evoking dawn confidence, featuring heat-reactive CLAY series for 3D sculptural shapes and DAWN outerwear with hand-dyed gradients mimicking shifting skies. Multi-way Kasuri woven jackets from Bishu wool transform via draping, while reversible matte-to-satin pieces and TO GO leather bags shaped like coffee cups emphasize functional beauty. This direction denies the strict customization to the fluid, propriety-free design, complicating the traditional menswear geometry with softness and substance.
The show was called Formless Form and focused on the silent power of cloth, where natural folding is given the day over structure in order to effortlessly achieve the sophisticated look.
CLAY fabric bends itself when it gets body warm and DAWN series focuses on sky colors. Kasuri jackets are versatile in nature.
