In an interesting shift in positions, Australian thriller opener Travis Head loses his safe held No.1 spot in the ICC Men’s T20 Rankings to India’s young breakout star Abhishek Sharma soars high with the No.1 spot for the first time.
Abhishek Sharma pushes down his fellow SRH player to be throned as the 3rd Indian batsman to be ranked as No.1 in the ICC Men’s T20 rankings. Previously the ‘Run Machine’ Virat Kohli and the destructive Surya Kumar Yadav were ranked No.1 in the shortest format.
The recent ICC T20 Batsmen rankings have more changes as Australia’s Josh Inglis has pulled through 6 spots to be ranked in the Top 10 positions while India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal drops down 2 spots, now ranked 11. Inglis’ stand out performance against West Indies, racking up 172 runs in 5 matches has been a stepping stone for his ranking.
Tim David moves up 12 spots to be ranked in No. 18 in the T20 Men’s ranking to be the third player in the top 20 spots. Ben Stokes with his five wicket haul in Old Trafford made him swiftly gain the No.3 All-Rounder spot which is led by India’s Ravindra Jadeja who still reigns the list with his stellar showcase on field.
The All-rounder list also has Washington Sundar, who got his maiden test century moved to the Thirteenth position, skipping eight positions.
