Harris Makes Final Pitch: New Generation Leadership vs. Trump’s ‘Chaos and Division’

US Vice President Kamala Harris concluded her poll address at the Ellipse, Washington DC on Tuesday evening. In front of 75,000 supporters, Harris transformed herself into the symbol of a new generation of leadership albeit against the backdrop of a rather easily identifiable opponent, the incumbent president who addressed this audience five weeks before the storming of the Capitol.

Harris laid out her economic vision and additional measures that would save money, such as capping the price of insulin and expanding child tax credits. She also opposed Trump’s proposed import duties saying they would bring high costs to Americans, the Trump Sales Tax. The Vice President also took a considerably more rigorous position on immigration, pledging deportation of illegitimate arrivals and cartel prosecution, however, backing reform bills that could offer a chance for legal residency to some immigrants.

The candidate of the Democratic party was cautious with Biden, stating that after the pandemic, the world needs other approaches. She stressed that she fully recovered from COVID, and her administration would work on current challenges that affect American families financially, which positioned herself as an outsider who is willing to take on Washington’s elites.

Harris also emphasized on her willingness to command the US military and maintain the US military as the mightiest while pointing at Trump averageness in policies globally. She said that restrictions could be allowed including abortion and IVF in case of Trump’s presidency. The Vice President spoke of what is called Project 2025, a right-wing governance plan that the Donald tried to disassociate himself with earlier.
