Hailey Bieber acknowledges family’s famous roots, opens up about wearing ‘nepo baby’ tee

Hailey Bieber has never been the one to step back from making fashion statements. Something similar was seen earlier this year when the model stepped out wearing the now-infamous tee with the words ‘nepo baby’ printed across the front.

It came against a backdrop of raging ‘nepo baby’ discussions in Hollywood – about kids benefiting from their celebrity parents’ fame and connections. For those who aren’t aware, Hailey is the niece of actor Alec Baldwin and daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin.

The 26-year-old opened up about the reaction she received on wearing the tee in a recent interview with Bloomberg’s The Circuit. Instead of trying to make a statement, she was just acknowledging the famous roots of her family, the model mentioned.

“I’m just going to call myself a nepo baby, because I am one,” Hailey told host Emily Chang. But she didn’t get humorous reactions for her tee. Instead, what she received was a backlash from people who stressed the model wasn’t really that much of a nepo baby.

She has realised “there is never any winning with the internet,” Hailey added, highlighting the fact that netizens would call her a nepo baby all day long, but when she acknowledges it, she gets described as not much of a nepo baby.

In recent news, the celebrity triggered intense criticism again for wearing white to her friends’ wedding ceremony. Women are usually advised to avoid wearing white to another woman’s wedding. Stephanie Shepherd and Larry Jackson were tying the knot that day.
