Exploring the top 10 most dangerous serial killers of all time

Serial killers have long captivated the public’s fascination with their chilling crimes and twisted psyches. From notorious murderers who terrorized communities to elusive killers who evaded capture for years, here are the top 10 most dangerous serial killers in history.

1. The Zodiac Killer

The killer created this persona for himself by sending the Bay Area Press mocking letters. Of the four ciphers he supplied, only one was conclusively cracked before he left the others to be deciphered. Throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, the murderer was active in California. 

His most recent letter stated: “SFPD (San Francisco Police Department): 0 and me: 37.” Only seven of the 37 individuals he claimed to have slain were authenticated by the press. The case file remains unresolved.

2. Donald Henry Gaskins

According to Gaskins, he has tortured and disfigured between 80 and 90 individuals to death. In 1969, he began his murderous career by taking in hitchhikers on the American South’s coastal roadways. After seeing him murder two young guys, a criminal associate came clean to the authorities. 

He was given a death sentence, which was eventually changed to a life term without the possibility of release. Gaskins became the only guy to have ever slain a prisoner on death row and added another murder to his record.

3. Tsutomu Miyazaki

In addition, he is among the most well-known serial murderers. His heinous deeds earned him numerous nicknames. Among them were Dracula Miyazaki, The Little Girl Murderer, and The Otaku Murderer. He killed the young girls he had stolen, took their bodies, and had sex with them, which is why. He once ate the victim’s hand in addition to drinking her blood.

4. Ted Bundy

American serial killer, abductor, rapist, and necrophile Ted Bundy was all of these things. He admitted to murdering thirty women while conducting business in many US states. He went back to murder scenes and had sex with the bodies. At least twelve victims had their heads severed by Bundy, who kept the trophies in his apartment. 1989 saw the death of Bundy, then 42, in the electric chair.

5. Jack the Ripper

The true killer or murderers were never found. The victims’ missing organs and the killer’s apparent surgical background led to the creation of the moniker. In the London slums between 1888 and 1891, a single individual, subsequently assumed to be Jack the Ripper, murdered young women who worked as prostitutes.

6. Luis Garavito

The Colombian, who goes by Le Bestia (The Beast) in the media, is perhaps one of the deadliest serial killers in history. He acknowledged torturing, raping, and killing 147 young boys. However, it’s thought that there are more than 300. 139 offenses of which he should have served 1,853 years in jail were found against him. 

However, the maximum term allowed under Columbian law is 30, which is what he received in 1999. Because of his cooperation and excellent behavior, he could be freed early.

7. Ahmad Suradji

The Indonesian livestock farmer acknowledged murdering forty-two women and girls between 1986 and 1997. He used to bury them waist-deep as part of his rite. He thought that by having the bodies in a sugarcane field facing his house, he would gain greater authority. In 2008, Suradji received a firing squad death sentence.

8. Alexander Pichushkin

He was also referred to as the “Bitsa Park Maniac” and the “Chessboard Killer.” He used alcohol to entice homeless guys to his residence, making them his prey. He is thought to have killed 49 individuals, the majority of whom suffered repeated strikes to the head from hammers, and he also put a vodka bottle inside one of their open skull wounds. At first, he declared his intention to murder 64 individuals and fill all the squares on a chessboard.

9. Andrei Chikatilo

The Butcher of Rostov, Andrei, claimed, “I felt a sense of psychological relief after using my knife. I am aware that I must be annihilated. I was an error in nature. Between 1978 and 1990, he was the one who killed and disfigured 53 women and children in Russia in addition to sexually abusing them. He was to be executed by firing squad in 1994 after being apprehended in 1992.

10. Charles Edmund Cullen

Cullen was a nurse at several hospitals, but he was dismissed from many of them due to his suspicious behavior, so he continued changing professions. He admitted to killing forty elderly New Jersey victims between 1984 and 2003. He achieved this by using over-prescribed medicine to poison his victims to death. He said he wished to alleviate the patient’s pain in a manner like that of an angel. According to experts, he had around 300 victims. Cullen is a lifelong prisoner.
