Popular American actor Dabney Coleman who was famous among the audience for his mean and bossy roles in superhit movies like ‘tootsie’ and ‘9 to 5’ died at the age of 92 years. Late actor’s daughter Quincy Coleman told the media that Dabney Coleman died peacefully and took his last breaths at his home in Santa Monica, California. His daughter gave the official news of the actor’s demise on behalf of Coleman’s family.

Dabney Coleman became popular for his arrogant roles but during an interview Coleman stated that all his characters were a part of his acting. His daughter said, “My father spent most of his time on this planet with a curious mind, kind heart, and as a passionate person and he was also very humorous”.

Dabney Coleman was a popular American actor born on 3 January 1932 in Texas, US. His full name was Dabney Wharton Coleman. Daney gained his higher education from the University of Texas at Austin. Dabney Coleman was a tennis lover. He has married and divorced two times. He had 4 children from her second wife, an actress named Jean Hale.

He has worked in various famous movies including ‘9 to 5’, ‘Tootsie’, ‘On Golden Pond’ and ‘Cloak and Dagger’ among others movies.

He was also an Emmy Award winner for his role as a lawyer in a movie called ‘ Sworn to Silence’. From 1958-60 Dabney learned the skills of acting from Sanford Meisner. In the 1960’s Dabney started his acting career and has worked on more than 60 television dramas and movies. 

Dabney first appeared on Broadway in a play named ‘ A Call on Kuprin’. Dabney Coleman gained popularity for his character of Franklin Hart Jr. in the superhit movie ‘9 to 5’.

He also gained success on television through various dramas including ‘The Guardian’ and ‘Buffalo Bill’ among others. Not only in ‘9 to 5’ but Daney has also starred in various other movies including ‘Tootsie’, ‘Dragnet’ and ‘You’ve Got Mail’. He was famous for his arrogant, bossy, and quirky roles. His recent role was in HBO’s 2010-11 ‘Boardwalk Empire’ in which he played the role of a ruler who ruled Atlantic City.
