Brooklyn Nets forward Bojan Bogdanovic will undergo season-ending foot surgery, marking another setback in his injury-plagued year. ESPN’s Shams Charania broke the news, confirming that Bogdanovic’s 2024-25 season is officially over.
Bogdanovic, who hasn’t played a single game this season, had surgeries on his left foot and left wrist last spring. While his wrist recovered in time for training camp, his foot required more time to heal. Unfortunately, it didn’t heal as expected, leading to this latest procedure.
Though reports don’t specify which foot is being operated on, indications suggest it’s his left foot again, further complicating his return to the court.
At 36 years old (turning in April), Bogdanovic has had an impressive NBA career spanning over a decade, averaging 15.6 points per game with .460/.394/.859 shooting splits. Since his debut in 2014, he has played for the Nets, Wizards, Pacers, Jazz, Pistons, and Knicks.
Had he been healthy, his expiring $19 million contract could have made him a buyout market candidate, especially with the lottery-bound Nets looking to make roster moves. His future in the NBA is uncertain now as age and injuries can make his return difficult.
So, the Nets will continue without the veteran forward while Bogdanovic faces an uncertain road ahead in his recovery.
