Zelenskyy Ready for Peace Talks With Putin: “If It Saves Lives, We Will Do It”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he would consent to direct negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin in today’s interview.
“If that is the only setup in which we can bring peace to the citizens of Ukraine and not lose people then definitely we will go for this setup,” Zelenskyy stated in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan that was uploaded in YouTube.
In order to protect against potential Russian activities, Zelenskyy has appealed for security guarantees on numerous occasions. Earlier, Putin had agreed to hold talks with Ukraine but ruled out speaking directly to Zelenskyy, calling him “illegitimate”.
The Ukrainian leader also said,“I will not be kind to him (Putin), I consider him an enemy. To be honest, I think he considers me an enemy, too.”
