US Vice President James David Vance’s first time visit to India is officially announced by The White House. VP Vance is visiting India and Italy this week along with his wife Usha Vance and their kids are joining him for the trip. The news is headlining mainly due to Usha Vance’s Indian Origin and this also makes the Vances’ first visit to India after Vice President JD Vance assumed office as Donald Trump’s associates.

The visit of JD Vance, wife Usha Vance will meet India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Italy’s Prime Minister Georgia Meloni to discuss bilateral trades and the recent tariff breakdown and topics of mutual trade with the leaders. This is JD Vance’s third official international trip under Trump’s administration that is going to cover two countries.

During his visit in India, Vance will visit Prime Minister Modi over dinner and visit Jaipur, Agra and New Delhi. JD Vance and his family are planning on visiting the Taj Mahal. “In India, the Vice President will visit New Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. The Vice President will hold meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Vice President and Second Family will also participate in engagements at cultural sites,” according to the statement.

JD Vance and Usha Vance will visit Rome and meet up with Italy’s PM Giorgia Meloni and Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin. While Prime Minister Meloni has been vocal about the recent imposed tariff by Trump, it will certainly be a part of discussion along with trade ties.
