US President Trump calls Indian and Russian economy “Dead”: Tariff war continues

US President Trump takes a huge jab at India after slamming the 25% Tariff and circling about the very little business Washington has with India and Russia. Clubbing two of the countries together, Trump wrote, “take their dead economies down together”.

On Thursday, Trump posted a long slamming statement targeting India and Russia that read, “I don’t care what India does with Russia, they can take their dead economies down together, for all I care. We have done very little business with India, their Tariffs are too high, among the highest in the World. Likewise, Russia and the USA do almost no business together.”

He also took a jab at former President Medvedev by saying, “Let’s keep it that way, and tell Medvedev, the failed former President of Russia, who thinks he’s still President, to watch his words. He’s entering very dangerous territory!”. This comes from Trump after former President Dmitry Medvedev’s comment that Trump is playing “the ultimate game” with Russia and such an approach from Washington could lead to a war.

“Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with (Trump’s) own country,” Medvedev said.

New Delhi and Washington’s interim Trade talks were of no use as the US announced a 25% tariff on all goods imported from India and an unspecified penalty from 1 August, leaving a tense situation among the exporters.

He also posted a brief tariff note on the trade between India that read, “Remember, while India is our friend, we have, over the years, done relatively little business with them because their Tariffs are far too high, among the highest in the World, and they have the most strenuous and obnoxious non-monetary Trade Barriers of any Country,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

“Also, they have always bought a vast majority of their military equipment from Russia, and are Russia’s largest buyer of ENERGY, along with China, at a time when everyone wants Russia to STOP THE KILLING IN UKRAINE ALL THINGS NOT GOOD! INDIA WILL THEREFORE BE PAYING A TARIFF OF 25%, PLUS A PENALTY FOR THE ABOVE, STARTING ON AUGUST FIRST. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER. MAGA!” the post read.
