UAE Welcomes Donald Trump’s AI Action plan – Ambassador Yousef al-Otaiba

Donald Trump has signed three executive orders on Wednesday including the AI Action plan aiming to reshape America’s Artificial Intelligence landscape. As a part of Trump’s pledge to make America an ‘AI export powerhouse’.

“America is the country that started the AI race and as president of the United States, I am here today to declare that America is going to win it. We are going to work hard. We are going to win it,” Trump said at the AI summit in Washington.

The AI Action plan announced with a 24 page presentation is now receiving commendable appreciation and support from UAE, said UAE’S Ambassador to US Yousef Al Otaiba. Applauding the plan within hours after the three pillar AI infrastructure was announced by Donald Trump.

The UAE and US have already accelerated the Artificial Intelligence Innovation initiatives and plans on building AI infrastructure in the US and leading in AI diplomacy being the strategy’s three main sections.

“The UAE welcomes President Trump’s AI Action Plan and is ready to fast track our strategic AI partnership with the US, first announced during [President Trump’s] May visit to Abu Dhabi,” Mr Al Otaiba posted on social media.

Ambassador Al Otaiba also added, “As a trusted partner, we are working closely with leading US companies to adopt and scale American technology in the UAE and beyond,”, referring to the 5GW UAE-US AI Campus announced in May, aligned with Trump’s visit to the Middle East.

The countries also share a massive deal to export chips including the Authorization for the UAE to import up to 500,000 Nvidia H100 chips annually (2025–27) to power a 5-gigawatt, 10‑square‑mile “AI campus” in Abu Dhabi developed by Emirati firm G42 and U.S. partners.

The integral $1.4 trillion UAE‑U.S. investment was also agreed on with the partnership bringing potential job creation in the US soil and manufacturing revival, harbouring good collaboration between the countries. This also reflects US’s trust in its allies, especially in UAE with sensitive AI Infrastructure deals while also deepening the existing bilateral ties.
