UAE and Jordan airdropped 25 Tons of AID to Gaza after a months of pause

Gaza is facing a grueling hunger and famine crisis amidst the devastating war and after several months of blockade, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan have airdropped first aid packages to Gaza in many months. 

“The air drops were not a substitute for delivery by land”, A Jordan official said that, reported Reuters. The aid was transported through an Airdrop mission done by two Jordanian Air Force C- 130 planes and dropped  25 tons of aid to Gaza, official Jordan sources said. 

A daily “tactical pause” in three areas of Gaza, including the Muwasi, Deir al-Balah, and Gaza City was announced on Sunday by the Israeli Military, a step towards reducing the hunger crisis in the war torn region. 

The ‘tactical pause’ has been implemented from Sunday till further notice and will be happening between 10 am to 8 pm and will halt military operations. The Israeli military has also reportedly started dropping aid in the Palestine territory after the global criticism of them using famine and starvation as a weapon against civilians in the ongoing war. 

The Gaza health ministry reported that 127 people, including 85 children, have died due to malnutrition since the war began nearly two years ago. More than 100 NGOs have warned and criticised this week of “mass starvation”.

The total blockade by Israel that has shut down any type of aid to enter Gaza from March has also been heavily outlined as the famine heavily intensified since then. Israel. From May has opened a sliver of path for aid yet the severity in controlling and restrictions of roadways has been criticized by the UN and other world humanitarian organisations.
