Texas Under Flash Flood Warning as Storm System Sweeps Central U.S.

Weather scientists predict rain will become heavier in many US states so people of Dallas County need to organize their defenses today. Storms strike the heart of American territory as Texas’s north center region needs to watch out for fast water damage. Local weather reports from the National Weather Service showed rain amounting to 2 inches in Dallas metropolitan areas earlier today and rainfall rates above 2 inches per hour.

The weather service issued a warning that they observe or expect intense flooding to start quickly in Dallas County regions. Heavy rainfall will hit most of the Plains states from Texas toward Nebraska through Iowa and Illinois for a week.

While the rainfall provides relief to drought-affected regions, meteorologists caution about multiple hazards associated with these storms:

  • Potential for tornado formation
  • Risk of baseball-sized hail
  • Street flooding and drainage system overload
  • Continued flash flood threats across multiple states
