sheikh hamdan leads uae's 'stand with lebanon' campaign, collecting 1,100 tonnes of essential aid
Ruler’s Representative in the al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent authority Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan led a major humanitarian campaign at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. He took part in the collection of 150 tonnes of essential aids to help Lebanon.
In the campaign “UAE stands with Lebanon” they collected food, medical supplies, and shelter equipment to help those affected by the ongoing crisis in Lebanon.
In the campaign, 2,287 volunteers from across the UAE participated in it. Sheikh Hamdan along with his children and other national influences like Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Omar Al Olama Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence participated in the effort.
This aid collection drive is a continuation of the UAE’s long-standing tradition of extending a helping hand to those in need. This approach is inspired by the legacy of the Former President Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The UAE aid campaign for Lebanon launched on October 8, 2024, under the directive of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Till now UAE sent 13 relief planes with them they had delivered 560 tonnes of aid to Lebanon. The commitment of UAE for humanitarian efforts remains as strong as ever, ensuring that timely help reaches those who need it the most.
