Breaking: 100 Officers Raid Quiboloy’s Compound; Unsuccessful Arrest Attempt

About a hundred police officers stormed the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) compound in Barangay Buhangin on Monday morning to arrest Pastor Apollo Quiboloy. He is wanted in Davao and Pasig courts on charges of child abuse, sexual exploitation and trafficking.

When the police arrived, Quiboloy’s followers protested at the gate, demanding justice for their pastor. Despite the resistance, the authorities were able to serve the arrest warrants peacefully.

Police Major Catherine Dela Rey from the Public Information Office of Police Regional Office 11 said the warrants were served at about 4 a.m. “The PNP served three warrants of arrest against Quiboloy and five others issued by the RTC of Davao for acts of child abuse and sexual abuse, and by the Pasig court for violations of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2000,” she explained.

However, Quiboloy and the others were not found in the compound. Despite initial resistance from Quiboloy’s supporters, the authorities managed to serve the warrants without further incident.

“Supporters and followers of KJC were urged to remain calm and cooperate with the ongoing implementation of court processes,” Dela Rey stated, reading from the official statement of PRO 11. “Authorities emphasize that this action is based on the lawful order of the court and due process to address these serious charges,” she added.

On April 3, a Davao Regional Trial Court issued arrest orders against Quiboloy and his associates Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid Canada, Sylvia Camanes, and Jackiely Roy. They face charges under the Anti-Child Abuse Law, specifically related to sexual abuse of minors and maltreatment.

On April 11, a Pasig City court also issued a warrant for Quiboloy’s arrest for qualified human trafficking, a non-bailable offense. Additionally, an arrest order from the Senate panel on women, led by Senator Hontiveros, had been released against Quiboloy.
