netflix pride and prejudice first look cast announcement
Beloved Austenian story is back in production as Netflix is backing one of the largest adaptations of Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ as they announce the complete cast and crew on Tuesday.
Netflix now announced the first look of ‘Pride and Prejudice’, a limited series and revealed the supporting actors apart from the prominent ones after production has begun in the UK. Emma Corrin, known for her roles in ‘The Crown’, ‘Nosferatu’ is playing the beloved Elizabeth Bennet and her fellow co-star in ‘The Crown’ Olivia Coleman as Mrs. Bennet.
Jack Lowden known from ‘Slow Horses’ is playing Mr. Darcy, while the rest of the cast was kept under the wraps. Now Netflix has revealed the complete cast and crew for the much anticipated six-part limited series that is said to be a faithful adaptation of the 1819 novel by director Euros Lyn.
The director of ‘Heartstopper’, ‘Sherlock’ is joined by Dolly Alderton as the screenwriter. “Once in a generation, a group of people get to retell this wonderful story and I feel very lucky that I get to be a part of it,” Alderton said in a statement. “Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’ is the blueprint for romantic comedy – it has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and fresh ways of bringing this beloved book to life”, reported Deadline.
