Linda Sun and Husband Arrested in Long Island, FBI Raid Sparks Charges

Last updated on September 10th, 2024 at 07:58 am

Linda Sun is a former aide to New York Governor Kathy Hochul arrested this morning. This arrest had happened at her home in Long Island. She was not arrested alone but her husband Chris Hu also got arrested.

The officials already said that the arrest is not related to the work of Sun with Governor Hochul.

According to Hochul press secretary Avi Small, Sun was hired a decade ago. It was fired in March 2023. Because there was evidence of misconduct. The Governor’s Office reported the misconduct to law enforcement and has cooperated with the investigation.

Avi Small said in a statement, “This individual was hired by the Executive Chamber more than a decade ago. We terminated her employment in March 2023 after discovering evidence of misconduct, immediately reported her actions to law enforcement, and have assisted law enforcement throughout this process.”

Sun had worked in state government for about 15 years and was most recently the deputy commissioner for strategic business development at the New York State Department of Labor. Before that, she served as Hochul’s deputy chief of staff and also worked under former Governor Andrew Cuomo.

The specific charges against Sun and Hu were not made public immediately but were expected to be revealed later in the day when the couple appeared in Brooklyn federal court.
