Chief Justice Matthew J. Fader of the Supreme Court of Maryland has named Judge Joseph M. Stanalonis as the county administrative judge for the Circuit Court of St. Mary’s County, starting November 20, 2024. Judge Stanalonis has been serving in this role temporarily since Judge Michael J. Stamm passed away on October 2, 2024.
County administrative judges manage court operations, including budgets, schedules, and case management, to keep the system running smoothly.
“I’m pleased to appoint Judge Stanalonis to this important position,” said Chief Justice Fader. “His dedication to fair and efficient justice, along with his experience as a judge, makes him the right person to follow Judge Stamm. Judge Stanalonis is well-connected to his community, and I’m confident he’ll be an effective leader for St. Mary’s County.”
