Jimmy Kimmel Becomes a Grandfather: Daughter Katie Welcomes Baby Girl Patti Joan

Television host Jimmy Kimmel is thrilled to become a first-time grandfather. Kimmel told his Jimmy Kimmel Live! audience on May 20, 2025, that his daughter Katie had given birth to a baby girl named Patti Joan with husband Will Logsdon. This is why the host didn’t appear on the show last night—he wanted to be near his daughter for her birth. The family deeply enjoyed the event which was full of laughter and real emotions.

Katie Kimmel Welcomes Baby Girl with Husband Will Logsdon

The opening monologue of the 57-year-old host was full of heart and a bit of fun. The show was supposed to happen yesterday, but we couldn’t do it since my daughter had a baby, he said. Before revealing her real age, he joked that Katie would be much older at 83. He pointed out that the baby was born just when the show is being taped, so skipping a taping was simple. Patti Joan is her granddaughter’s name, he said, as it is like a PizzwhoMelty and Joan is her middle name to pay tribute to his mother.

Family Joy and Legacy Continue for the Kimmels

Katie Kimmel is the daughter of Jimmy and Gina Maddy, who were his first spouse. Besides one another, the ex-pair had a son named Kevin, married to each other from 1988 to 2003. Now that he is married to Molly McNearney, who he wed in 2013, Kimmel has two more children, Jane and Billy. Katie and Will welcomed their first child together after marrying in September of 2020. When the announcement was made, people in the studio appreciated it, as did online fans who were eager for what’s to come in the comedian’s life. There was an outpouring of congratulations for the father, mother and the grandfather.
