During this visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the Order of St Andrew the Apostle the First-Called, Russia’s highest civilian honor. President Vladimir Putin presented the award to PM Modi in Moscow for his exceptional efforts in fostering the partnership and friendship between the two nations. The Order of St Andrew the Apostle the First-Called, established in 1698 by Tsar Peter the Great, is awarded for outstanding civilian or military merit. The ceremony took place in the Grand Hall of the Order of Saint Andrew, a historical site that has also hosted Russian presidential inaugurations.
