Hyundai CEO Optimistic About Elon Musk’s Influence in Trump’s Administration
Jose Munoz the CEO of Hyundai CEO is grabbing headlines after his recent comment on tech giant Elon Musk. According to the report by Bussiness Insiders, he isn’t worried about the close relationship of President-elect Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
According to him, this relationship will benefit the U.S. auto industry as a whole.
In an interview with Bloomberg, Munoz said, “I don’t see that as a concern, honestly.” He explained that Musk’s influence on the Trump administration might help support the growth of electric vehicles (EVs) in the U.S. and keep the industry competitive with China.
Musk is a part of Trump 2.0., recently when he supported eliminating the $7,500 federal EV tax credit to automakers, CEOs were shocked by the decision. These would affect all automakers, Musk has said it would impact rivals of Tesla and benefit his company.
But after this, now Munoz is showing an optimistic attitude towards Musk. He believes the position of a tech giant in government could help EV industry to grow.
Hyundai and Kia are second top sellers in the U.S. The IONIQ 5 model of Hyundai and Kia EV9 are attracting buyers in the United States. These companies became the second-largest EV sellers in the U.S.
Tesla will be the most searched car brand in the United States in 2024.
Hyundai declined to comment further on the matter.
