Hunter Biden Trial Live Updates: Guilty on All Charges in Historic Gun Case

US President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden has been found guilty of federal gun charges. This is the first time in history of America that a child of a sitting President has faced such a situation.

Another reason why this case is making headlines in America is that it is the time of US Presidential elections and President Joe Biden is campaigning for his re-election.

He showed his support for his family and he said he is standing strong with his family on this hard time but at the same time, he respects the decision of the American court.

Let us tell you that cases and criminal charges were hot issues during the election campaign this year because we saw that former President Donald Trump was also found guilty in the New York trials, but he is running in the presidential race in America. And the people of America are supporting them.

What are the Charges on Hunter Biden?

The legal case began after a plea in July 2023. Hunter Biden was convicted of three federal charges:

  1. lying about drug use on a federal screening form
  2. lying to a gun dealer
  3. possessing a gun while being a drug user

The first two charges were related to lying about drug use on a form required to purchase a gun in 2018. The third charge was being a drug user and having a gun. Although a person can be sentenced to 25 years in prison in the US for these charges, if a case is filed against a person who has no criminal history, he will receive a lesser sentence.

The decision came after an analysis of all the testimonies in which Hunter’s ex-wife and sister-in-law also admitted that Hunter was addicted to drugs.

What impact will the decision in this case have on President Joe Biden’s ongoing presidential campaign?

As the US is set to elect its new president in November 2024, President Joe Biden is campaigning for re-election, and his son’s legal battle has become a big issue, especially on TV debate shows and Trump’s rallies.

However, it will not impact campaigns and votes as Americans are focused on key issues like immigration laws, inflation rate, secure border, etc. This is the same situation that we are analyzing with Donald Trump, though he was found guilty in his criminal cases yet there is no major difference and fall in his popularity.

How Americans reacted to the Verdict for Hunter Biden:

Kash Patel, Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, commented and said it was a rare example of justice being delivered fairly in America.

President Joe Biden also issued a statement expressing his approval of the judicial outcome.

Hunter Biden’s conviction is a significant and unprecedented event in American history. Though Biden has shown a united front with his son through the judicial process.
