How did the Brazil plane crash happen? This is what we know so far

A tragic plane crash in Brazil’s northern Amazonas state led to the killing of 14 people on Saturday. Media reports and knowledgeable sources said that the small white plane crashed in the Amazonas. The crashed plane was an EMB-110, which was manufactured by Brazilian aircraft-maker Embraer.

How did the Brazil plane crash happen?

The plane crashed in Brazil’s northern Amazonas on Saturday when the pilot was trying to land in stormy weather in Barcelos, a municipality situated in the Amazonas region of northern part of Brazil. 

The pilot was suffering due to heavy rain and low visibility. Amazonas state security secretary Vinicius Almeida said that the pilot was struggling while approaching the popular tourist town of Barcelos in heavy rain. 

Reportedly, the EMB-110 plane ran out of the landing strip and crashed in Amazonas state. The plane crash killed all 12 passengers and two crew members. 

According to the initial probe, all 12 passengers were Brazilian men traveling to the region for sport fishing. The authorities removed their bodies from the aircraft. The authorities took the bodies to Manaus, a city in Brazil, to identify the victims. A forensic test will be conducted by medical professionals to identify them.

Governor of Amazonas on Brazil plane crash tragedy

Wilson Miranda Lima, a Brazilian politician, journalist and the Governor of the state of Amazonas, expressed sadness over the tragic incident. He wrote on X, formerly called Twitter, “Our teams have been on the ground responding since the moment of the plane crash to provide the necessary support. My solidarity and prayers to the victims’ family and friends.”

Amazonas state security secretary Vinicius Almeida also expressed grief over the Brazil plane crash tragedy. The mayor of Barcelos, Edson de Paula Rodrigues Mendes, also expressed his condolences to the victims’ families. 

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) and the Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (CENIPA) have started investigating the whole matter to know the actual cause of the Brazil plane crash.
