HBO has announced that production for the highly anticipated Harry Potter TV series will begin in summer of 2025. The shooting will happen in the same location where the original eight movies were made. Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Hertfordshire.
The series will faithfully adapt J.K. Rowling’s iconic books and feature a brand-new cast. In September, after an open casting call, over 32,000 children auditioned for lead roles. Applicants had to be UK or Ireland residents aged 9–11 by April 2025.
The streaming service Max shared the news on X: “Wands at the ready. The upcoming HBO Original Series, Harry Potter, will begin filming in Summer 2025.”
The series announced in 2023, it will span seven seasons each season is based on one book. It aims to introduce Harry Potter’s magical world to a new generation of fans while staying true to the original story.
Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod will be the producers of the new Harry Potter series. They are known for good work in Succession.
