Harris Releases Medical Report, Highlighting Contrast with Trump

Kamala Harris, the Vice President is to release her medical information on Saturday. The hope is that this move will highlight her openness compared to Trump, the Republican candidate, who has not made his health records public. The release has come at the time when both the candidates are in the presidential election and the contest is extremely neck to neck.

Health and Fitness for Office

The aide says that in the medical report, Harris has passed all examinations, and according to the doctor, she has the endurance to perform all presidential activities due to her physical and mental health. This comprises of her capacities in relation to her docket function as the Chief Executive, the Head of State and the Commander in Chief. That is why this information published by Harris’ campaign can help the voters to understand that she is suitable for the job of the President.

The move also helps to draw attention to the fact that Harris is 59 years old and Trump is 78 years old. When President Joe Biden, 81, decided not to run again after a terrible debate, Trump was 74 and became the oldest candidate. They believe that Harris’ campaign will try to exploit this age difference and market her candidate as the fitter option.

Transparency and Voter Trust

The leaking of Harris’ medical records is an extension of the current drive for more transparency in the campaign. Then, the candidate takes an opposite approach to Trump in explaining her intentions and agenda, thus walking the voters through the process of getting their trust. This approach may appeal to the floating voter who may expect their potential leaders to be very open and to disclose all information when seeking to be voted into power.

The Harris campaign supposes that stressing these differences in terms of the transparency of actions, as well as in terms of age and intellect, will have an impact on the electorate. When the competition is mounting to the extent that the two parties are really close, every aspect that can offer input into the communication used to win voters’ over is important.
