Flights, Traffic Affected After Plane Crash Near Boca Raton Airport

A small plane crashed Friday morning near the Boca Raton Airport, causing major traffic disruptions in the area.

The aircraft, a Cessna 310 with three people onboard, went down around 10:20 a.m. on Military Trail near Glades Road, shortly after taking off. The FAA said the plane was flying to Tallahassee International Airport.

Debris from the crash scattered across the road and nearby train tracks. Emergency crews quickly arrived at the scene, and aerial footage showed a heavy presence of first responders.

At this time, it’s unclear whether the plane was taking off or attempting to land. No details on injuries have been released yet.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating the crash. The NTSB will lead the investigation and provide updates.

Road Closures:

  • Military Trail is closed between Northwest 19th Street and Butts Road
  • Glades Road I-95 overpass is shut down both eastbound and westbound
  • The Boca Raton Airport is closed
  • Tri-Rail service is affected due to debris on the tracks

Officials are asking drivers to avoid the area.

Nearby Boca Raton High School remains open. The school district said classes are continuing as usual, and parents are urged not to come to the school due to heavy traffic.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned for more updates.
