Duleep Trophy 2025: Format, schedule, squads and highlights

The 2025 Duleep Trophy, commencing late this month and concluding on September 15, heralds the highly anticipated return of India’s premier domestic season. This edition returns to the traditional zonal format.

The format is a single-elimination knockout tournament featuring North Zone and East Zone in the semi-finals, alongside Central Zone and North East. There are six teams playing this time and finalists from the last zonal edition – South and West – enter the semifinals directly.

The entire tournament is to be hosted at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence, Bengaluru, across multiple grounds. You can find a number of popular players this time, including Shubman Gill, Dhruv Jurel, Ishan Kishan, Shardul Thakur and Tilak Varma.

1. Quarter Finals:

North Zone and East Zone

Central Zone and Northeast Zone

Dates: August 28-31

2. Semi-Finals

South Zone and QF 1 qualifier

North Zone and QF2 qualifier

Dates: September 4-7

3. Final

Semi-Final 1 and Semi-Final 2 qualifiers

Dates: September 11-15
