On Friday, President Donald Trump traveled to North Carolina and California. This is his trip after becoming the president of America. This region of America hit hard by natural disasters recently, they faced wildfires and hurricanes.
In Fletcher North Carolina, Trump received a briefing on recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene. During this visit, Trump met with affected families in Swannanoa.

Trump criticized the Federal Emergency Management Agency. He said “They’ve been abused by what’s happened. FEMA has really let us down.” He pledged to provide financial support for recovery but he also said that state governments should take more responsibility for disaster management.
Today Trump also toured the Pacific Palisades neighborhood in Los Angeles, California, where he was briefed on the wildfires that have devastated the area.
He also talked about the federal assistance for California could be used as leverage to gain Democratic support for his legislative agenda.
