Buybuy Baby: Is the business closing soon?

You may have heard that Bed Bath & Beyond will close 150 shops this year, including 65 in Canada and 150 in the US. Bed Bath & Beyond subsidiaries, such buybuy Baby, which is closing six of its US locations and is running liquidation sales, are among the stores that will be closing.

As the only nationwide brick-and-mortar chain in the US dedicated solely to baby products (after Babies ‘R Us closed in 2018), this news may be upsetting for families who have gift cards and registry accounts with buybuy Baby. Many expecting parents rely on their stores to test out baby gear in person.

Is buybuy Baby Business declining?

Depending on where you reside. Buybuy Baby and its parent firm Bed Bath & Beyond will not cease operations in the US. However, Bed Bath & Beyond’s Canada section is closing its doors. All of the locations in Canada, including the 11 buybuy Baby locations and the 54 Bed Bath & Beyond locations, will be permanently closing.

A percentage of US stores are also being permanently closed, and their inventories are being liquidated, to make up for higher-than-anticipated losses in 2022. Both Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy Baby will continue to have shops open around the US.

Can buybuy Baby registration be transferred?

Make sure that “Public” and not “Private” visibility is selected for your buybuy Baby registry. Your registry’s items cannot be transferred to Babylist if it is set to “Private.”

Visit the homepage of your Babylist registry. It simply takes a few minutes to get started if you don’t already have a Babylist baby registry.

Click on Transfer Another Registry, which is located on the right side, immediately below Finish Your Registry Setup.

You should select Transfer Items (not Add Registry Link) to move your buybuy Baby registry. In this approach, the goods from your Babylist registry are included straight into your Buybuy Baby registry, ensuring that you won’t lose them if you lose access to your Buybuy Baby registry.
