Cheng Saephan a man from the Laos recently shifted to United States has won a huge $1.3 billion jackpot in Powerball, which is America’s favorite lottery game! After his big win, he is the center of discussion throughout the nation.

Cheng Saephan is 46 years old.  On April 7th he shifted to Portland, Oregon. It is a lively city in the northwest of the state. Even though Saephan was going through chemotherapy to fight against cancer, his luck changed dramatically when the numbers he picked matched the winning combination. And he won the lottery.

Saephan chose to get his winnings all at once, as a lump sum of $422 million after taxes. He was thankful for the extra money and said he would share it equally with his wife and a close friend. He said, “Now I can bless my family and hire a good doctor for myself,” describing how the win would change his life in a big way.

Saephan says that the lottery is like a fulfillment of a dream for him. He wants to win the lottery again and play Powerball again to buy a dream house for his family. He said, “I might get lucky again.”

He said he is thankful to god, and he won the lottery because of his prayers.

“My life has been changed,” he told CBS affiliate KOIN.

Saephan, his wife, and a friend came up with a plan to increase their chances of winning by pooling their money to buy more than 20 Powerball tickets for the fateful drawing. Their hard work paid off big time, showing how important it is to work together to get amazing results.

As the fourth-largest jackpot ever recorded, the 7th April jackpot was a historic moment in Powerball history in United States. Millions of people were amazed by Saephan’s win, which included the numbers 22, 27, 44, 52, 69, and the red Powerball 9.
