3 People Killed In Ukraine’s Moscow Drone Strike

Three people have been killed in Ukraine’s drone strike on a building in Moscow’s central business district. This attack comes just hours after Ukrainian authorities said Russian artillery hit two villages near Lyman, killing three people and wounding others.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said Russian air defense systems downed one Ukrainian drone in the Mozhaisky district and one in the Khimki district of the Moscow region. “A third drone crashed into a building in the Moscow City business district, located about five kilometers from the Kremlin.” The ministry on Tuesday said it downed two drones over Moscow, and two more were intercepted over the Bryansk region near the Ukrainian region. And a Russian warplane destroyed a Ukrainian reconnaissance boat, sailing near Russian gas production facilities, in the Black Sea.

Vyacheslav Gladkov, Belgorod’s Governor, blamed Kyiv for the attack on the region, near Ukraine’s border. He said Ukrainian forces launched an explosive device through a drone while people were on the street.

The recent drone strike prompted Moscow’s Vnukovo, Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo airports to briefly halt services. The Mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, took to Telegram messaging app to confirm that several windows were smashed in two adjacent five-story buildings.

Meanwhile, the Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev alleged NATO is fighting a full-scale war against Russia, using Kiev authorities as proxies. Citing Georgia’s invasion of South Ossetia and Russia’s recognition of the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, he said hostile observers should have learned a lesson from those developments.

“But unfortunately, it did not happen. The Western world keeps falling into the same trap over and over again. Our adversaries are up to their necks in the proxy war that NATO is fighting against us in Ukraine through the hands of the Kiev regime, which is a full-scale and deadly one.”

As the Russia-Ukraine conflict continues to escalate, Ukrainian forces have gained ground in the southeastern village of Robotyne, a regional rail hub occupied by Russia. If Ukrainian forces trumph in Robotyne, it would be marked as a milestone in Kyiv’s southward push to reach the Sea of Axov.
