Year of Community 2025: Hand in Hand for a Unified UAE
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared 2025 to be the Year of Community by kicking off a nationwide campaign to promote inclusivity and harmony in society.
The campaign which goes by the phrase “Hand in Hand” embodies the UAE leadership’s goal of creating a strong and united community. More than four million Indians reside in the United Arab Emirates contributing significantly to the nation’s diversified populace.
The announcement made by President Sheikh Mohamed reaffirms the leadership’s dedication to building a peaceful and inclusive society.
In a post on X, Sheikh Mohamed called on “all those who call the UAE home” to contribute towards improving their communities and ensuring the nation continues to serve as “an inspiring model of progress and prosperity.”
In order to build stronger social ties, promote shared accountability and unleash the potential for inclusive and sustainable progress, he underlined the need for teamwork.
Dubai’s ruler and vice president, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid also expressed his support for the project emphasising its emphasis on social cohesion and harmony.
“The foundation of our nation’s strength lies in a united community, where individuals are connected, and care is extended to each other,” he said, adding that strong families are key to a thriving community and a brighter future for generations to come.
Throughout the year, a number of activities and programs will be introduced to encourage residents and citizens to volunteer, do community service and take part in activities that honour the UAE’s cultural diversity.
