Temba Bavuma is leading the Proteas towards their first World Test Championship win against the reigning champions Australia led by Pat Cummins. The captain who stood as a pillar for the South African side along with the exceptional Markram through Day 3 and was swiftly pulled off the lineup by Pat Cummins.

Lord’s is hosting its maiden WTC finals and what an epic clash as South Africa is edging towards their first WTC Trophy. The cricket fans are rooting for the win, their first win is only a reach away under Temba Bavuma’s captaincy.

Day 4 was productive and busy for the Australian side who took the wicket of the South African skipper and welcomed Stubbs to join Markram, a dependable and destructive duo. A target of 282 is chased, comfortably, thanks to Aiden Markram’s blast century, a compensating revival from his first innings duck.

South Africa is now chasing 241-4 with Stubbs walking out of the crease and the Australian pace attack is eyeing for quick wickets following Starc’s clean wicket. With only nearly 40 runs standing between them and the trophy, South Africa still got to work on a striking batsman to push through Markram’s dependable stance.

South Africa – 242/4 in the crease is Markram 120 (190) and Bedingham (1) at the 71 over followed by Nathan Lyon conceding the 72nd over with no runs, keeping the players at bay.  Makram and Bedingham pushed through the runs, taking 3s and relying much on Markram’s feets and Australia burning all their reviews.

South Africa scores 250 by 74th Over and only has 32 runs for victory.  Lyon gives away nothing but 1 run as South Africa crawls closer to the win and the over by Hazelwood becomes a blunder, quickening the victory for South Africa as 8 runs heaped off the over and Aiden Markram gets caught by Head, scoring a much needed 136 off 207.

Down to 5 runs, Bedingham is joined by Kyle Verrynne to finish off the game. Hazelwood followed for the 83rd over, the Proteas won the game and the trophy ultimately with a dreadful wait for the last run.
