Winter Storm Prompts School Delays in Massachusetts and New Hampshire

School Delays in Massachusetts and New Hampshire: Extensive delays and closures across educational institutions from massive overnight snowstorm: The snow sweeping across the northeast has prompted one heck of an overnight storm with school delays in Massachusetts and New Hampshire on Wednesday, January 29. Particularly during the morning commute, the winter weather conditions have brought a lot of districts to implement precautionary measures.

Two school districts – Athol-Royalston Regional School District and Rockport Public Schools – have closed on completely for the day. Most other institutions—be they public, private, or both—decided on two hour delays. In addition, many schools have shut down their morning preschool and kindergarten programs to keep students safe.

Rivier University also says it will have a two hour delay, but the weather related disruptions spread to K-12 education. Apart from educational needs, St. James Armenian Apostolic Church’s regularly scheduled bingo cancellation has also caused problems for community services.
