Who is Baba Vanga? The Bulgarian Mystic who predicts Future events and her prediction for 2025

Bulgarian born Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova is known famously as Baba Vanga who has predicted some of the most known catastrophic events in her lifetime and beyond. After being left blind past her teenage years, Baba Vanga became a healer and a mystic who was predicting and foreseeing incidents which were caught on by people in the country. 

Her prediction stretches from any disaster events to technological advancements in the future and has left predictions spanning till 5079. Some of her predictions came true with startling accuracy while many have been vague and left to the interpretations of individuals. 

Known as the ‘Nostradamus of the Balkans’, Baba Vanga’s predictions have both believers and skeptics as some of her predictions have been chalked up as mere coincidence and aftermath interpretations. Yet after her death in 1996, her predictions are still firmly believed and shared in social media either during a major catastrophe or by the enthusiasts. 

Here are some of her prophecies that came true

Chernobyl Disaster (1986):

• Prediction: “The Russian chernobyl will be full of smoke, and the blood of the innocent will be spilled.”

• Outcome: The Chernobyl nuclear disaster in Ukraine occurred in 1986, resulting in radiation leaks and widespread contamination.

Death of Princess Diana (1997):

• Prediction: “The day will come when the British princess will be killed by the hands of the people.”

• Outcome: Princess Diana died in a car crash in 1997 in Paris, a tragic event that shocked the world.

9/11 Terrorist Attacks (2001):

• Prediction: “Horror, horror, the American brothers will fall after being attacked by the steel birds.”

• Outcome: The September 11 attacks involved hijacked planes (referred to as “steel birds”) crashing into the World Trade Center.

Rise of ISIS (Predicted in 1989):

• Prediction: “A great Muslim leader will rise, and the world will be at war.”

• Outcome: The rise of ISIS in the Middle East in the 2010s led to global instability and war.

Obama Presidency (Predicted in 1979):

• Prediction: “The 44th President of the United States will be African American.”

• Outcome: Barack Obama became the 44th President of the United States in 2009.

The 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami:

• Prediction: “A great wave will wash the shore and cause great loss.”

• Outcome: The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, caused by a massive undersea earthquake, killed over 230,000 people across multiple countries.

The Fall of the Twin Towers (9/11):

• Prediction: “The twin towers will collapse.”

• Outcome: This corresponds to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, where the World Trade Center’s twin towers were brought down by planes.

Japan’s Ryo Tatsuki – New Baba Vanga Predictions

Ryo Tatsuki, the Japanese woman who is now known as the New Baba Vanga and she has written in her book ‘The Future I Saw’ mentions a big catastrophe to happen on 5 July 2025. Her predictions state that a huge earthquake along the Pacific Ocean coast could trigger a tsunami three times more devastating than the one that struck Japan in 2011.

While this prediction has kicked off a new wave of panic in the country and social media, there are other mystics and predictors who have also stated a disaster which may align with the 5 July 2025 prediction.
