West Asian nations have threatened America and Israel with a ban on the use of their airspace for attacks on Iran this year, in response to Tehran’s missile strike on Israel recently. This comes as other powers in the region raise worry about escalation and possible disruption of the flow of oil while Israel tries to decide on what steps to take.
Jordan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar have told the United States that they do not allow their territory, waters or airspace to be used for planning or executing an attack on Iran. This decision comes after the Iranians said they would respond to any country allowing attacks on its soil. However, these nations are not completely closed to cooperation in case of defense actions in the region.
The main concerns of the West Asian countries stem from the possibility of the situation worsening and leading to an all-out conflict and the shared fear of disruption of the oil business. These nations have the most at stake because they are among the world’s largest oil and gas exporters. There is a hidden communication between the USA and Iran through Arab countries and Iran had warned it would be fatal to Israel’s civilian infrastructure if attacked.
However, there is some inconvenience in the new conditions of the region: but nevertheless, Israel still retains the ability to carry out strikes. It can be ascertained that Israeli warplanes may possibly fly to Iran through Syria or Iraq; air defenses probably are not formidable. However there could be problems with aerial refueling or warship support because of the restrictions in the airspace in the region.
For their part, Israeli sources indicate that any possible response might be directed at Iran’s military and intelligence infrastructure, not nuclear sites. This approach is said to seek to ensure that a bigger regional conflict is not occasioned by Israel who is said not to wish for a larger conflict that would lead to a war that destabilizes the whole Middle East.
