Was the idea of Kalki 2898 AD taken from Dune?

At a recent event, an awestruck incident took place when movie fans eagerly waiting for Kalki 2898 AD, found it quite similar to the movie ‘Dune’ starring Tom Holland and Zendaya. Director Nag Ashwin came in front of the media at VFX Summit in Hyderabad and clarified all the doubts.

Nag Ashwin’s Clarification

Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone starrer Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin stated that when it comes to color combination, visual graphics and artwork, the movie looks similar to Dune. However, there is no similarity in the storylines of both the movies.

Kalki 2898 AD is going to be a sci-fi film that uncovers the journey beginning from Mahabharata to the year 2898. In the latest update, the movie was planned to be released on May 9. But due to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections in some of the states, the release date is now postponed to June 27.

Excitement for Kalki

In the current speculations regarding Kalki, fans are also comparing Deepika Padukone’s look with Zendaya. Some are even saying that both of them look similar. Though the Hollywood industry is more advanced as compared to Bollywood, one fact should not go unnoticed that Bollywood is also giving equal competition to Hollywood in today’s digital realm.

On the other side, the excitement among fans is on top level. They just can’t wait for this film to hit theaters. This excitement has arisen only after the release of its first look on social media platforms. According to the director Nag Ashwin, he has made each and every possible effort to cover up the journey of 6000 years in this film. Now, it’s completely based upon the audience whether they will enjoy this thrilling experience or not.

Although there are various Bollywood films made on science fiction, people are expecting that this film might play a revolutionizing role not only in the Indian film industry but also in the careers of its star cast. The duo of Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone have done comedic roles together but this will be the first time when they will be seen together in such unique roles.
