US President Donald Trump Visits UAE – Monumental Ties and Agreements to be Discussed

The United Arab Emirates has welcomed their key ally US President Donald Trump who landed on Thursday. The last leg of Trump’s Middle East Trip, the US President will be looking forward to signing crucial agreements on various vital sectors with the UAE. Trump will be the first US President to visit Abu Dhabi in 17 years, with an objective of strengthening their Bilateral ties. 

A crucial stop in Donald Trump’s Middle East Tour, Abu Dhabi will host the president and discuss bilateral cooperation for futuristic vitalisation of the nations’ development. UAE is one of the strongest trading nations of the Middle East and North America that positions itself with notable investments especially in Futuristic Technology. 

UAE – US cooperation has been strong for decades since the inauguration of their ties in the 1970s that lead to understanding in the fields of economy, politics, trade, military, security and many others. 

The fast growing Middle East Country also has a successful vision of being a global power in AI that needs the backing of the United States under their Vision 2030 initiative planning. Donald Trump has also after assuming office has taken several steps towards deepening the two countries’ relationship with boosting economic and strategic cooperation. 

The two nations already signed multiple strategies and agreements in the field of technology and AI, with UAE’s leading AI company G42 in 2024 signed a $1.5 billion strategic investment from Microsoft. 

According to the UAE Ministry of Economy, the non-oil foreign trade between the two nations surged to $32.8 billion, accounting to 4% of the oil trade in 2024 with the western country ranked at 6 as the UAE’s largest global trading partner. The UAE is also a leading investor in the UAE with an accumulated amount of $1 trillion across sectors will be a part of discussion during the visit, as reported by Emirates News Agency. 

Another key discussion in this trip would be the Abraham Accords brokered by the US, with Trump already addressed during the investment forum in Riyadh, suggesting Saudi Arabia joining the Abraham Accords. “It will be a special day in the Middle East, with the whole world watching, when Saudi Arabia joins us, and you’ll be greatly honoring me and you’ll be greatly honoring all of those people that have fought so hard for the Middle East,” the US President said.
