uk market entry programme returns to boost global tech in 2025
London Tech Week 2025 has started and once more the West Midlands Growth Company (WMGC) is the focus, as they relaunch their UK Market Entry Programme for the third straight year. Because of this effort, the UK is fast becoming a hot spot for global tech enterprises and the 2025–26 round is providing space for 15 leading and highly innovative businesses. Because nearly 300 new jobs were created in the West Midlands in 2024, the program will be officially launched during The West Midlands Breakfast Takeover at The Shard which Warwick Business School will co-host on June 11. The event will underline the region’s increased international impact as a leader in health tech, clean tech, digital innovations and future ways to move people and goods.
Any international tech company wanting to grow in the UK can apply to the UK Market Entry Programme which offers free nine-month support specifically created for them. Each participant gains:
Some of the hubs are STEAMhouse, Tyseley Energy Park and the University of Warwick Science Park. Being linked to strategic partners Innovate UK, Connected Places Catapult and Midlands Innovation, WMGC makes every part of a company’s market entry easy and valuable.
In 2024, the cohort added 17 companies, working in both the nation and abroad, who expanded and greatly supported regional job growth. Because of its success, the programme is known as one of the most effective ways to help foreign companies invest in the UK. According to Neil Rami, West Midlands Growth Company’s Chief Executive, international businesses using the UK Market Entry Programme have successfully scaled their companies in one of the most active tech areas in Europe. We’re very happy to have another 15 places available for this year’s program.
Among the participants in the 2024 programme, Dutch AI firm OPT/NET has illustrated how Bertholtz is making a big difference. According to Taras Matselyukh, the company chose to invest in Birmingham’s STEAMhouse since the area has local talent and strong R&D facilities. Thanks to the West Midlands Global Growth Programme, we have established strong relationships, improved in the UK and improved our AI-focused product, OptOSS AI, said Matselyukh.
With the opportunity of 15 places open, WMGC is starting to receive applications from qualified international companies. The initiative selects tech companies that have achieved great results with innovation and are prepared to build their presence in the UK. Companies eligible to apply must go to the official website for WMGC to register their interest and find all the details needed for assessment. Since the programme has grown in prestige and shown impressive achievements, many are expected to compete for spots.
This effort makes the West Midlands attractive for global innovators while helping the UK achieve its goal of becoming a top science and tech nation on the world scene. It mirrors how the government intends to gather investment, offer more employment opportunities regionally and encourage superior innovation. London Tech Week is continuing to receive worldwide notice and the UK Market Entry Programme will help the West Midlands lead the UK’s regional tech revolution.
