UAE – USA AI partnership aims for Global Dominance – A Highlighted Timeline

In the middle of the vast desert, UAE sprouts new advancement with Artificial Intelligence technology with the mission of global dominance along with their longtime collaborator – USA.

The two countries apart from the Oil trade have been investing for the growth of technology, economy and other major sectors. Now UAE in collaboration with global tech giants and USA launched Stargate AI technology in May, post the US president’s Middle East visit. The two countries already have signed ‘US- UAE AI Acceleration partnership’, a framework that further boosts cooperation around critical technologies and ensures the protection of the culminating technologies based on a set of joint commitments.

About Stargate – A Cross-Border Advancement

The USA – UAE initiative will facilitate deeper technology understanding and aim to march towards the Global AI competitive race. On 22 May, President Donald Trump approved the signing of ‘Stargate’ an AI initiative that has global tech giants like OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco Systems and Japan SoftBank Group along with the UAE’s homegrown startup champion G42.

‘Stargate’ was launched with a $500 Billion investment and the aim of developing the world’s largest data center cluster. The first phase of the initiative will have a 1-gigawatt Stargate UAE project. The center’s first cluster will deliver 1GW of capacity, with 200MW expected to go online by 2026, the press release by OpenAI reports.

The investment will also have dual investment and will build compute capacity to deliver safe, secure and broadly beneficial Al in the UAE, U.S. and around the world.

  • UAE investment into U.S. Stargate infrastructure in the US.

Global Benchmark and Tech Diplomacy

The ‘Stargate’ partnership between the nations will set out a global benchmark in the field of artificial intelligence. Through the implementation of a “Regulated Technology Environment,” approved UAE organizations acquiring regulated U.S. technologies will adhere to extensive physical and cybersecurity protocols.

The protocols mentioned will involve “regular audits, third-party validations, and active oversight by both nations’ governments”, said Yousef Al Otaiba, the UAE Ambassador to the US. The ambassador released a statement regarding the two country’s AI Accelerating partnership.

The UAE- US partnership is cemented with several years of mutual trust in advancing sectors. The direct involvement of US companies like Microsoft further ensures that advanced Al chips and technologies are fully protected from diversion or unauthorized access.

Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba also shared about the UAE- US trusted relationship saying, “Reinforcing our shared commitment to technological security and integrity, this initiative is just the latest in a broad spectrum of Emirati-American partnerships, grounded in decades of mutual trust. The UAE has purchased and operates some of the U.S.’s most sophisticated defense systems and cooperates closely with the U.S. on a civilian nuclear energy program with strict safeguards.”
