UAE President Highlights Humanitarian Needs and Calls for Gaza Ceasefire, China-Arab Forum

After winding up the meetings in South Korea the President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed is in China.

During the 10th Ministerial Meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum UAE President Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the issue of Gaza. He emphasized the important role of the cooperation of Arabs with China in calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

During his speech, he also highlighted the critical condition of Gaza and said it is important to increase humanitarian aid for the civilians of Gaza. President said that a two-state solution is important for bringing peace to the region.

Sheikh Mohamed states, “This meeting comes in light of the escalating tensions the Middle East is witnessing as a result of the continuing war in the Gaza Strip and the difficult humanitarian conditions it has caused its residents.”

In this meeting of the China-Arab States Co-operation Forum in Beijing, Chinese President Xi also expressed his commitment for world peace. He stated that humanitarian aid is important to save lives.

Xi also said that China will support Palestine to be granted UN membership. China announced  500 million yuan ($69 million) as humanitarian aid for Gaza, they also said that will donate $3 million to UN to provide aid and help to refugees of war victims of Gaza.

Xi said, “China will work with the Arab side as good partners to make our relations a model for maintaining world peace and stability.”

Recently, China has expanded its relations and cooperation with the Middle East, as part of its strategy to maintain geopolitical balance.

During the speech on this forum Chinese president Xi announced that China would host the second China-Arab States Summit in 2026.
